After a pretty long absence, arrived in Lithuania to work again with our eShop team. Last time I spent some time here before we released OXID eShop v4. So we all together still have to celebrate v4 :). We don’t know yet where to go and what to do and will decide tomorrow.
It’s been a while since people were actually discussing mCommerce as a true hype and latest trend in digital media. Yet slowly but surely the use of mobile devices and services grew more and more intense and today, as the mobile internet is quite popular, almost everybody involved in digital business has at least heard of mobile commerce.
Some days ago we send an internal quality report under confidentiality to our partners. After receiving a lot of requests to be allowed to publish this or parts of, we decided to publish the contents as it is. Yes, that’s right, the original confidential contents.
So what does report mean and how should you interpret this? Lets answer some questions:
Last week end we where invited to the annual so called LAHN party. It is called like this because the awesome town Weilburg is situated at the river Lahn and because of the homophones "Lahn" and "LAN". The meeting is completely organized by users of the OXID eShop themselves – special thanks to Martina and Michael! – nevertheless OXID employees as well as solution partners are welcome. So four of us, Roland (CEO), Oliver (Key Account Manager), Frank (Member of eFire-Team) and me went there to meet the people personally that use the software we build.
The first day at CeBIT usually is not the busiest one. My personal impression today was another one, at least in the Open Source areas but also at all booths relating to E-Commerce like Softengine, one of our ERP partners. Tomorrow at 11 a.m. I’m invited to a panel discussion titled ‘Open-Source vs. Cloud Commerce’. Looks to become interesting…
Herewith a short notice from the train on the way to CeBIT 2009, where you’ll find various meeting points with OXID people, OXID products or OXID partners.
